This article is about the Wimbledon the tennis tournament. Have you heard on the news about that really long tennis tournament with those two guys? Well, that was actually 10 hours long and went on for three days. The two guys were John Isner from America, and Nicolas Mahut. They also broke many records such as longest tennis game in history and many more.
Many games are not like this one this game took three days due to darkness. They were just waiting for the game to get over with ongoing ties. The fifth set had lasted 118 games its self. They went on the court at 10:30ET with them tied at 59-59.They were just waiting for the game to get over with. This game had attracted a lot of tennis watchers because of how good they were no matter what happened.
Last years Wimbledon tournament ended with a dramatic 16-14 end. The two players last year were Roger Frederer and Andy Roddick. The next one to get close was 6 hour and 33minutes. This match was in the French Open. Isner and Mahut beat that in the fifth set with 7 hours!
The opponents, Mahut and Isner, had a total combination of 193 aces. John Isner had 98 aces and Nicolas Mahut with 95 aces; they both had more than the other record. The previous record was 51 aces in 1 game. There was a doubles match in 2007 where Brazil’s Marcelo Meloand Andre SA won 28-26. The Wimbledon tournament match doubled this Brazilian match.
This article is about the tennis tournament in Wimbledon. The tournament was for the semi finals and it lasted 10 hours. They broke a lot of records such as longest tennis game played, most aces in one game, and many more. The two players were John Isner, of America, and Nicolas Mahut, of London. These were two very different people one was at the top of the game, John Isner, and one was at the bottom, Nicolas Mahut. Overall they played a very well game.
